RePollinate Anne Arundel

RePollinate Anne Arundel is a collaborative engagement between the Anne Arundel County Watershed Stewards Academy, and the University of Maryland Extension Master Gardeners.

WHY DO WE NEED to repollinate?

RePollinate Anne Arundel accomplishes many restoration and ecological goals. Native plantings add resilience to soil erosion stabilization projects that in turn significantly reduce sediment and nutrient loads into the Chesapeake Bay and its streams and tributaries. Based on research, pollinators and birds have declined in many cases up to 70 percent.  Habitat loss is a significant cause of that. If the right plants are planted, critical habitat will be restored for many threatened and endangered species, while adding ecological interest and aesthetic appeal to restoration plantings.

How can I sow, grow, and plant native local ecotype perennials?

No experience is needed, it's easy, and we will teach you! There are many ways to get involved with the RePollinate Anne Arundel program.
